Kells Kings Cycling Routes

PLEASE NOTE ALTERATIONS TO THE 116KM AND 80KM ROUTES

The 116 km Challenge starts out in Kells and takes in Kilmoganny, Aghaviller, Mullinavat, Inistioge, Graignamanagh, Thomastown and Stoneyford before returning to Kells via Ennisnag. There will be a water and snack stop in Mullinavat and a water and food stop in Inistioge. There will also be a BBQ, soup and sandwiches back in Kells for all cyclists. Registration takes place on the morning of the cycle (Saturday 26th August) between 8.30am-9.30am at Kells Childcare Centre. Registration is €25. Start Time: 9.45am sharp.

The 80 km Challenge starts out in Kells and takes in Kilmoganny, Aghaviller, Mullinavat, Inistioge, Thomastown and Stoneyford before returning to Kells via Ennisnag. The 45km local loop starts out in Kells Village, veers towards Kilmoganny, on out to Castlehale Creamery, where now there will be two options to take on a 45km route with a category 1 climb or a 40km route which will not have this category 1 climb. These two routes will rejoin at Aghaviller cross where it will proceed to Hugginstown to the new water stop location. It will then head down through Coolmore, rejoining the old Waterford Rd at Scoil Aireagail. It will head on towards Ballyhale and out the Thomastown Rd where you will join the 116km & 80km route at Jerpoint. It will then head through the village of Stoneyford, into Ennisnag and finally back to Kells for some well earned food. Registration takes place on the day of the cycle (Saturday 26th August) between 12.15pm-1.15pm at Kells Childcare Centre. Registration is €25. Start Time: 1.30pm sharp.

The 7.5 km Family Fun Cycle starts out in Kells, heads for Stoneyford and back to Kells via Ennisnag. There will be refreshments and food back in Kells for all cyclists. For this fun cycle you can either (a) register to take part on the day of the cycle at €10 OR (b) request a sponsorship card via the Request Form on the bottom of the 'Take Part' page on this website. Registration takes place on the day of the cycle (Saturday 26th August) between 1.45pm-2.45pm at Kells Childcare Centre. Start Time: 3pm sharp.
