About Cois Nore

A cancer diagnosis profoundly changes a personís life. Many people feel alone, isolated and afraid. Some keep their fears to themselves in order not to cause further trauma to their families. Others simply have no one to share their fears with and many find it hard to get back to their old life when treatment is finished. Often people find it difficult to ask for help and are not sure where to turn.

 

A premises in Walkin Street (see below) has kindly been donated rent free by Modern Printers for 5 years. At the newly opened Cois Nore Cancer Support Centre all services are provided free of charge and the Centre depend on donations from the local community and fundraising efforts, like the Kells Kings Charity Cycle, to assist them.


Cois Nore provide gentle caring support in a confidential, professional and non-judgmental environment. The Centre also aims to help ease the experience for individuals, their carers and families by providing support, information and empowering people at the time of diagnosis, during treatment and post treatment through providing professional and confidential services such as:

  • Workshops on Self Care
  • Stress and Fatigue Management
  • Nutrition Advice
  • Support Group Facilitation for Men and Women

  • Mindfulness Meditation

 

Delivery of services by staff and volunteers is in accordance with current Irish Cancer Society guidelines.
